The Montgomery Area Zoological Society and Mrs. Rita Sabel proudly announce sponsorship of Zoobilation 2009 at the Montgomery Zoo. Mrs. Sabel is generously continuing a long tradition started by her and her husband, the late Mark Sabel, as a Diamond Sponsor of Zoobilation 2009.
Mrs. Sabel, and her husband Mr. Mark Sabel’s, generosity to the Zoo is not new. During a Board meeting in Old Alabama Town with then Mayor Emory Folmar, Mr. Mark Sabel discussed a major fund raising endeavor to buy the land where the Montgomery Zoo is now located. Mr. Sabel directed the Capital Campaign for the “New Zoo”. Unfortunately, before the Grand Opening, Mr. Sabel passed away. Rita Sabel and her family have continued to be generous supporters over the past 20 years and have aided in the construction of the Overlook CafĂ©, the African Elephant habitat and barn, as well as, the new North American River Otter exhibit.
Zoobilation 2009 will be held October 8, beginning at 6:30pm at the Montgomery Zoo. Join hundreds of River Region citizens and Zoo lovers for a wonderful evening of delectable food and drinks from the area’s finest restaurants and caterers. The evening will include live entertainment, dancing under the stars, as well as, live and silent auctions. And that sound you hear, might just be the roar of a lion or pachyderm partying nearby.
Zoobilation 2009 is an adult only party/fundraiser. All attendees must be 21 years of age or older to attend the event. Admission is $50.00 per person. Tickets may be purchased online at ZoobilationOnline.com or at our several ticket outlets; including the Montgomery Zoo, Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Eastdale Mall guest information, Montgomery’s Visitor’s Center at Union Station and the City of Prattville Mayor’s Office.
